Buy your family new towels periodically and take the old worn towels to the garage.....helps keep harmony in the clan. Buy a second hand clothes washer to do your garage laundry & you will be "King". If you're lucky and can pipe house hot & cold water to the garage & wash up before going into the house.

If only I lived in a warmer climate and didn't have to worry about freezing pipes!!!! I'm still trying to figure out the shoes issue. I'm thinking a clean pair at the garage door as not to risk tracking grease on the carpet!!! Dragging my feet through the gravel and across the lawn works in summer, but not when the snow flies.

They make electric heating tapes for mobile homes and such to keep pipes warm. Some even have thermostat kick on controls.

No joke. I am lucky, the utility room is just off the garage so if it's been one of those down and dirty days, I just shed everything right there in the utility. Grab a towel and head to the showers!

I have a small water heater in my shop, and a stackable washer/dryer for shop rags and such. My wife gives me old towels from time to time, and I have them on a shelf. They come in handy to put on a seat for a test drive, to put on the floor to soak up an anti-freeze spill, that kind of stuff. We're a team.........she helps me help her keep the house clean...........

:) It's never too late to learn new 'tricks of the trade'... I'd never read that old thread, and I learned a couple of new ones by the thread being updated... so thanks! :)
