Among the many items associated with this customers build, I decided to depart from the normal fasteners that retain the fuel tank and machined these up as a test trial - your thoughts?

Do you have some rubber isolators under them? You haven't done much unless you do.

Nick, with the washers on top nobody will see them when the body is mounted. I would consider mounting them from below, so they can be seen after the car is assembled.

What would be the purpose of rubber isolators? My tank is mounted rigidly to my frame with 12 bolts.

Looking back, I don't know why I suggested a rubber isolator - then. It just looked like that setup lent itself to using one.

But onverthinking this some more, having a piece of rubber in the joint will keep you from stressing the tank and brackets when the frome twists. Which everyone says it does, and I agree. I would also be forgiving of tolerances in getting 4 brackets all in one plane on both the frame and tank.

Can the tank be removed with the bolts coming in from the top Once the body is mounted ?

Yes, but let's hope that doesn't happen.
