This may be old hat for some of you guys. Found out that water solution of tri-sodium phosphate (from home depot in paint section) will remove grease AND paint on part soaking. Takes a little time, but paint will eventually side off with the grease.

I'd rather clean my parts with my pants on. LOL! :)

Sorry about that guys, didn't mean pants, but paint! I let some parts soak a little long to remove some grease, and found that the paint slid right off of the steel parts upon their removal from the solution. Saved me a step via no sandblasting needed. Please forgive any discomfort on anyone's part, by them trying naked, harry legged--- parts cleaning. Can't ya jest hear it now from the neighbors, "What the hell is he doin now????" And, "Oh, no, cover the kids eyes."

Run-em, thanks for this tip. I have some parts I need to de-grease and strip paint off of, so I'll try it. ;)

Does the stuff have some trade name, or is it just generic tri-sodium phosphate?
