I was looking at the tri5 truck specs and I see a 1508, 3100, 3200, 3400, 3500, 3600 and more all the way up to 10000 series. Many of them have different body dimensions too. Why so many series? Is it the difference between a 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton and larger truck? What is the most common truck that you guys hotrod?

The most common truck that is hotroded would be the 3100, that is a shortbed 1/2 ton truck. The 3200 is a longbed 1/2 which you will also see. Any frame mod that you would do to a 3100 can be done to a 3200. The differences is in the wheelbase. The 3100 has a 114 inches wheelbase and the 32 has a 123 inch wheelbase. The 3400 was a heavy duty or double duty model. The 3/4-ton models were given either a 3500 -3700 3/4 ton longbed. Then you have the big trucks and COE trucks. On the big trucks the cabs are the same but the front is not and on the COE front clip is very different as fenders, hood etc is shorter and they have bigger wheel opening and things like that.

Here is a pic of a big COE truck

Thanks Bam. Doing a little more studying the 56 specs it looks like the 1508 is the sedan delivery....not really a truck. I see a 3102 and a 3104, 3104 etc. What is the difference in these? They even have different dimensions across the front and rear fenders.

Yeah its a on going debate if the sedan delivery is a truck or a car. That is a very heated debate for both sides. As far as the 3104 ,3204, etc I not sure but I'm think those may have been the NAPCO Power-Pak trucks. You know the 4x4 trucks. Like I said I'm sure about that, but that would make sense. Because the 4 would tell you that is a 4x4 I read that some place makes sense to me so I'm sticking with it.

They could just put and air ride suspension on that puppy.lol Actually the COE trucks are pretty cool when in the right hands especially the earlier Advanced Design trucks.
