I thought this had something to do with brake lines, but the assembly manual doesn't show it. It's on all the frames, on the passenger side just forward of the rear hump.

Could it be for the emergency brake cable? I can check later to verify whats under my car.

The assembly manual doesn't show it in the e-brake diagrams. It's only on one side, and the e-brake is on both sides. The e-brake brackets are below this.

Without looking, I'd say brake lines. Maybe for dual exhaust brake lines? Try looking at the dual exhaust RPO in the assembly manual where the lines are routed outside the frame rather than inside.

Thanks Lee and welcome to the site! Thanks Rick, you got it. Any idea what this has to do with a single and dual 4-barrel carb? I wonder why they had to use a different brake line bracket....the other one is still there. Was it related to dual exhaust somehow?
