'55 Convertible Project -Progress Over The Last Year

My '55 Vert chassis is finally back together and rolling! My friend Ben and I finished putting the rear end and suspension together and rolled it out the door. I was very happy how well everything went together.


I thought I hadn't made that much progress over the last year because I barely worked on it at all this winter because of the cold, but I was pretty surprised when I looked back at pictures.


The chassis just needs some final detail work, brake and fuel lines,and exhaust, then the painted body can go back on and I can start working on the wiring and interior. The end of the project is now in sight!

I drilled out the spot welds.
A bit overkill, I know. I just didn't like the dented up crossmember.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. You guys build killer cars, so I take the nice words as a real compliment.

Can't believe how quickly this thing is progressing now. I plumbed the brakes and the chassis is almost completely finished. Just got to do a few more things to the LS engine and trans and then they go back in and the body goes on. Everything is already painted, so then it will be stuff like windows, stainless, wiring, etc...

My buddies have been doing a great job helping and motivating me. We keep bumping up the projected schedule for the first test drive. :)
