There's not a lot "special" about that car except the owner imo. I figured it was built a while ago (2004) because a lot of things look "old school" to me including the radiator, SBC, and even the "one-off" wheels that look very close to lots of others I've seen. I'm betting it goes for $100-150K mostly due to the name. Notice there's no pics of the underside of the car? I wouldn't buy it because of the Jim Meyer chassis. LOL! :)

I think I'll place a $25K bid just to see what happens. LOL :)

I really figured you would like it because other than color I don't like it. However I was trying to be polite about it.

Gee Mark, glad you're at least practicing being polite, lol.

I think it's a decent looking car, but there are several things that could be a lot better or that I would change.

It may be a far better car than the green 56 Nomad that those "Fast and Loud" clowns built for Jr., that no one can give away now. Having Jr.'s name associated with that one didn't help out much. It must have been a real POS.

I do like the car, I think it's "nice" especially the exterior. I think the wheels are dated but it is 10 years old. I think the rear wheels are a little too big for my taste but I do like larger wheels. I personally don't care for the interior and it could all use some updating. With a few improvements it could be "really nice".

I thought the green Nomad was pretty nice too but I didn't see the whole build. Seems like that shop builds some lower quality cars.

I actually agree with Cnut color and exterior are fine, I dislike interior, tires, wheels firewall.

The color on the car almost seems closer to the Sierra Gold than it does "orange". I thought it was maybe GM's Sunburst Orange but I'm not so sure.

I think this is stock Sierra Gold:

Here's GM Sunburst Orange, but I've seen 2 versions of it and perhaps 3 paint codes. One is a little more brownish.

I could not agree with you more, I had this discussion yesterday when I brought this auction up on moms computer. My Dad bought a new 56 BA and 58 Impala both sierra gold. She thought it was a new color for 56, but was not certain. We both agreed this car is not orange. I had some touch up paint mixed for my 56 and the paint stores computer chose a Mercedes base.

Appears to have stalled out.

A lot of guys use "snipers" to bid for them at the last minute...I do that myself so nobody sees that I'm interested. I have been able to buy lots of stuff cheap that way ;)

I believe you will see a spike in bids at the end.

Winning bid:US $90,100

A little jump at end.

And probably a 50-100% premium because of who owned it.

chevynut

I agree with about a 50% premium. The car is really probably worth around $60-70K if a regular guy owned it. You couldn't build it for that price.

Personally I think this car is worth more than the Two Lane Blacktop gasser.

Rick_L

A whole lot more than the 2 lane gasser unless you like paying a premium for a "name" gasser build. I'd rather pay a premium for a nicer build than any gasser, but that's just me. I don't know why one would want a "nice" gasser. That's why I didn't understand the Woody's build of a gasser with a repro body. (Unless that's all their repro bodies are good for.)

I agree with you Rick. This gasser was at the Lone Star convention a few years ago. Beautiful car, just not my style.

Surprise, I like the TLB car much better than this car.
