Yes I am sorry, it is a 56 truck. I asked this question on two sites and I was given the answer. I will see if I can post his picture, my computer skills are minimal.

Is it a deflector to keep the splash from a wet road off the back of the cab?

I'm not sure what those are but I don't think they go to the inside of the cab.The door's don't have arm rest and the kick panel has a flat piece to cover where you get to the door hinges.
