View Full Version : Front disc brake conversion

just replaced components for front disc brakes with stock spindle kit. When put tires back on I have a good amount of toe in.
Is it expected to have this and just go get an alignment done? We did add a bracket for caliper and a spacer, so this did change the steering arm geometry some.HELP PLEASE

Yes I think that's normal. If you moved the steering arm from it's stock location that would change the toe. Just adjust the tie rods so they're shorter, then get an alignment.

It was so bad on my 56 that I had to cut two inches off the outer tie rods and machine them down for two more inches of thread.

it will usually change from 3/8 to 7/8 of an inch---usually adjusting the toe will correct the problem
