If I were you I'd look for one locally on Craigslist before building one. I bought one that way and modified it to add jacks.

Here's a link to Robert's

My only question at this time would be. The centerline of the "rototating head" on both ends...... has to be truly in line with each other?,or am i wrong? Center of gravity in; laymans terms- would be very close to the centerline front to back in order to keep the body from banging the 8' ceiling>.Or ?/ btw thank you for this help on rotisserys.Ps i want to be able to turn the body ...on the spit... fairly easy. bob s

Bob, the center of rotation will be pretty close to the same height on both ends with the body level. I'm not sure what you're getting at there. The center of gravity and center of rotation would be about 13" or so above the body mounts with a bare body as I recall. The body is about 74" wide so laying sideways the body would extend 37" above the center of rotation. I think you need more room than that above the body to be able to rotate it, but I don't know how much. I really don't know if you'll be able to do it in a place with an 8 foot ceiling.

The body is a little over 6 feet wide and about 4 feet tall or about 7-7 1/4 feet measured diagonally. You need to consider the height of the legs on the rotisserie which is at least 6" off the floor with small wheels. So you really only have 7 feet or so to work with. It would be really close and the rotisserie would have to be adjustable height to make it work out, imo.

Thank you much Robert, good plans.may use them and pieces and parts. I have enough steel in my garage, that i can't use. Nothing welded together makes anything . That what i get for all the steel i used over the years.

I have a rotisserie for built specifically tri-fives built by Nu Nu Lowery. You can see his beautiful 55 on Rot Rod Network June 2, 2016. It works great and is balanced beautifully. My 56 is now sitting on it's Art Morrison chassis and I no longer need the rotisserie and I will take $600.00 for it.

Welcome to the site bull56. It might help to know where it's located. You should put your location in your profile for future reference. BTW, show us some pics of your 56!! :)
