rocker panel molding install

I need info on how to install new rocker panel molding on a 57 Belair.Holding it against car ,it looks like there will be a gap between car body & molding on fender and on opposite end in front of rear tire.Any ideas would be appreciated.

At the front fender, it has to do with aligning the fender to the body. The front part of where the molding goes on the fender kicks out on a lot of cars, and you can see the gap quite often at car shows, sometimes its a lot and sometimes just a little. Getting perfection on the different parts of these cars can get very expensive.

Just lay a straight edge across the rocker panel and fender.
