Nice car, but what does "unmolested" mean? If one modifies a car is he "molesting" it? :D

Yes, I believe if someone modifies a car it is being molested. I’m a purest and like cars to be totally original.

I lean heavily towards 'unmodified' cars myself, but some people might say that leaving a car to 'sit' for 10 yrs (rather than being driven) is 'molesting it as well'.... :)

Some may say that. But I rather think I was leaving it in its best condition for the next owner.

Well if "modified" is "molested", I must have RAPED my Nomad. :D I personally don't care for original cars because they're all the same and imo they're boring....and they're unsafe on today's roads by today's standards. But to each his own. ;) That car looks like a great start for a nice resto-mod :).

Yes! I just saw a note on the internet that there's a huge expose coming out about those 'rapes'.... maybe lawsuits? :)

We refer to those as sodomized rides.

You mean like the Chevys with MOPAR rearends? :D Who or what defines where "modified" ends and "sodomized" begins? Are they all "molested"? :D

Hotrodding is all about making a car better with stronger, more powerful, or safer parts. The only restored car I personally would ever own is a 60's muscle car, preferably a Chevy. Restored 50's cars belong in parades and museums along with Model As and Ts. LOL.

Robert, do you have any other tri5 Chevys?

Seatbelts are not "original" so it's been "molested" as far as I'm concerned.;)

Looks like it's been re-painted at least once. Why is there so much rust in the roof area and doors if this is a California car? I thought it was drier than hell there.

And there's more PROOF that the "California Frame" thing is bogus. This is a California car and it has 2-piece frame. :geek:

Who runs a mopar rear end, my 55 currently has a Dana 60 from a 72 GMC pickup, I also have one with a different ratio Dana from a Ford. My 56 has a 57 Oldsmobile rear end. I have never ran a Mopar rear end in anything. Actually a Chrysler Corp. Pass. car Dana 60 is a different housing casting and worth a bunch of $$$$. They are machined and drilled for a pinion snubber.

As far as rear ends go there is nothing cooler than a quick-change other than the gear whine. 10.5 inch 4:86 ring gear and I've run several gear ratios from the current 3.69 to a 6.13 gear just for fun. There are like a hundred different ratios that can be changed in 15 minutes. $75 for a pair of any gear.
