I have a 57 Bel Air 4 door post sedan with a recirculating heater. The chrome in-dash control is pretty simple. It has 2 knobs, (not sliders). One is a twist knob, multi-position for the fan speed and the other is a pull knob for defrost. That's it. I would like to replace the in-dash chrome control face plate but it seems none of the main stream 57 parts suppliers stock it. Anybody know of a supplier which sells them? Plan B would be to convert it but not sure what my option is. Suggestions in that case? Thanks!!

Wish I could help you tr283, but I've never even see such a thing. In fact, I've never seen a "standard" heater for a 55 or 56 either, only the "deluxe" heater in any car I've looked at. I'd check eBay for the part you're looking for...it may not be reproduced.

You da man! Yes that's the faceplate. Mine is about the same condition. I looked on ebay and didn't see it. Thanks for helping!

That one on ebay doesn't seem like it has much pitting and after its cleaned up would probably be about as good an original as you could find.

In all my years of looking at 57s, I have never seen one of those. Learn something new everyday.
