I am restoring my 1955 Chevy 2 door ht. I ran across a 55 with door post for sale but not sure what body parts are interchangeable. List of parts needed: hood, front bumper, grille, front windshield with trim, all body trim, doors, dash. I thought if most parts were interchangeable I would buy the whole car. Owner is asking 1000 dollars
The front clip (hood, fenders, inner fenders, grill, etc), bumpers are all interchangeable across ALL models of '55 passenger car (with only exceptions being trim which is dependent on the trim level - 150, 210, or BA). The dash metal is also the same for all models with the trim being the only difference.
Doors and windshield are NOT the same between sedans and HTs. The side trim is dependent on the trim level of the car (150, 210, BA); 2-dr BA side trim will be the same regardless of model (sedan, or HT). Stainless trim around the glass is a function of both body style and trim level.
For your 2-dr HT, you need 2 dr HT doors (although convertible doors can be modified to work).
