Hi, recently bought a 57 belaire. Paid to have it inspected. The report said everything operational.Had it shipped to my home in Mississippi. On first inspection by me, I found the wipers not working, right turn signal and horns not working. That will be the last time I trust someone else's opinion. the first thing i noticed was a missing wiper motor. I purchased a electric motor.I need some info on the operation of the wiper system, any help would be greatly appreciated. Craig J

hi Craig and welcome. good to have you here. complain to the inspection company, maybe get some or all of what you paid.

If you paid the inspection company with a credit card, dispute all or part of the charges. Document what you find wrong and send it as proof of their failure to provide the contracted service. I try to pay for most everything with a credit card so I have this option. I've only had to use it a couple of times.

Welcome aboard, Craig! Great to have you here and all the best to you in getting your '57 on the road.
Regarding the wipers...... There is a system of cables under the dash which work the actual wipers. If these are intact and operational and your wiper blades are in good condition, you may only need to install the electric wiper motor to have them working once again. The wiring is simple. There is one hot wire and there should also be a short ground wire. The same cable from the dash mounted knob that controls the vacuum type wiper motor controls the electric wiper motor, as well. You can see them in the photos here......
