Here is the piece I fabricated for the pedal assembly.

After a lot of measuring here it is tacked in place. I'm going to leave it tacked until the cab is
back on the frame, because I may have to move it a little bit.

Here is the pedal installed. Yes the push rod connection clears the bottom tube by about 1/2 inch.
As you can see I need to make or purchase a longer push rod extension.

      I got the frame repainted.

Here is the push rod connection to the brake pedal I had to fab up the mount for the brake pedal.

The best part of this site for me is the ideas & inspiration I get from seeing what everybody else is working on.

Looking good Bam. Is the frame staying black or green to match the truck?

                  Question

                  Hi Bam,
Thanks for sharing the pictures they are a great help. I am working on my 57 chevy truck... What size welder did you use in the chassis and the independent suspension? Where did you purchase the shaved firewall? Thanks

I done my chassis work with a Hobart 180, any 220 volt weld would do the job just fine. As for my firewall I did not purchase it I just used some scrape metal I have laying around.

                    Here is what I did.
First I cut out the sections to be replaced

Cut and welded in the replacement panels and grind the welds smooth.

I later made another change to it after seeing it at a show. That was to cut the lip off also, I had to fill that with a home made patch so it looks like this before primer.

Could you tell me how you smoothened the door jams. I really like to look but I am not sure how to do that. Thanks

Good to hear you are still around Bam. Your truck is progressing good and you are probably getting close to paint. I think the last I heard you had it in slick sand. Well just saying hello.

For some reason Bam quit posting last summer after a discussion about slavery. Anyone heard from him?
