oil dripping from rear of engine......engine recently rebuilt....seems to be coming thru bellhousing cover and running down near the starter.......can't get my hands back there...what could it be?
oil pressure sensor......valve cover.....intake manifold cover....whats the easiest way to fine
the leak and repair it? .........apprecciate any help in repairing and diagnosting the leak....
Check the rear of the Intake may need to use a good light source to see it and have car running, also check intake bolts and distributor area. How did you install your valve covers?

When I first built my 56 had the same thing it would only leak when the thing was warmed up.I took 2x10 made some block's that I could set the car on,took off the dust cover that way you can see the back of the oil pain,started the car and let her run at about 2000 rpm's about 15 min's found the leak. It was the oil pain gasket didn't seal good at the rear main.Hope this help's.
If you have a chrome oil pan that could be the source of the problem.
I have a 377 stroker (400 sbc .030 over w/350 crank & rods) that constantly "bleeds" I think I've finally solved the valve cover/edlebrock intake leak problem, i.e. shaving the valve covers to seat where the air gap dual quad raised area interfered. Also using the Edlebrock thick gaskets.
It has a "chrome oil pan," was on it when I acquired the car, why is "Chrome Pan" a problem? Please, recommend an oil pan that wouldn't leak, I'd love to quit buying kitty litter & degreaser.
The chrome pans typically don't have the surfaces that mate to the block and seals manufactured as accurately as stock pans do. Plus it's a little harder to get the silicone to adhere to the surface.
I run some fairly $$ B&M deep trans. pans on my 87 4x4s and have found it best to rough up the chrome for a good seal.

I ordered a milodon 7qt pan & accessories. Hopefully that will solve my problem. Never have been a fan of too much chrome anyway.

Milodon and Moroso are the two best made aftermarket pans out there.
