Seems I can get the panel for just under $100 and supports for about $35

Does anyone have any experience with either of these sheet metal guys ?
or know a better one ??

Most of these parts are made by one or two manufacturers, and sold by several dealers. So they're the same parts. The bare metal parts are made by Sherman and the black EDP parts are made in Taiwan by Golden Star. Some people say the Taiwan parts actually fit better. The Taiwan parts are also sold through Resto-World who typically has some good prices.

I would buy them where you can get both parts from the same place at the best price with shipping included.

We installed the bare steel one from Sherman/CarsInc and found the lower crease in the wrong place..... somewhat easily fixed though:

We had trimmed the pinch weld flanges off the tailpan and adjacent quarter, leaving a bit extra to insure we had enough metal to span the gap for butt welding... This was to eliminate the rust/dirt trap that the pinch weld flanges always seem to be...



Used the tipping tool to unfold the remainder of the flange and the door skin hammer to flatten it out...





After another test fit, the reproduction showed to be not that accurate, go figure....



After marking the new bend location, the bead roller was fitted with the tipping die to relocate the bend...



Along with making the new bend, the tipping die leaves a "crease" indicator on the bottom side. This is then aligned to the edge of the anvil, and a hammer is then used to flatten out the incorrect crease...





For a much better fit.....

I'm not so sure that the alternative won't need similar mods - just that the exact details will be different.
