Seems like the library would be a good place.

Hey Nick,,,that's some good reading. I had always used a list from Mor-tec that I downloaded years ago that was pretty good but last time I looked, was no longer available.
I noticed something that "may" be amiss. On the 12480005 heads, it states these aluminum LS type were ,,,,38Cc chambers???? WOW, talk about some quench,,,
I don't know much about heads, but if it's wrong it's not a big surprise. That's the problem with a lot of these sites....bad information. There is a site that lists widths of rearends from various cars that has all of the C4 Corvette rearend widths wrong. But some people think it's gospel because it's on the internet. How can you trust the rest of the information on it? A typo is one thing, but this one is no typo.

drive and enjoy them while you work on them, life is to short.
I agree, I never use the word of the list in that manner, more of a guide I guess. I think the issue with IRS units is the method of measurement. Doubtful they take the time to remove the springs to allow the suspension to flatten out. About the only true way would to measure each piece; center to center of the carrier at the universal joint, center to center of the half shafts and center to flange on the knuckle and do the math. Of course, measuring some of the parts without the aid of a CMM or a FARRO Arm will be a toughie.
Nick, I have removed the spring, set the halfshafts level, and put straightedges on the axle flanges. That's probably close enough for what we do.
