If you're going to do buckets you need to do extensive interior work to make it all "fit", otherwise the original bench seat would look best.

Nothing looks better to me than 62-65 Impala SS with that chrome band.

Other vehicles:
56 Chevy 2-door BelAir sedan
56 Chevy 210 4-door sedan

1961 Willys CJ3B Jeep
2001 Porsche Boxster S
2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Duramax
2019 GMC Sierra Denali Duramax
To me, bench seats are a thing of the past except in trucks. Not many cars have bench seats anymore, and they're horrible for a performance car because they have zero support. They're not very adjustable, and imo buckets look a lot better. There's no need for "extensive" interior work with buckets. You don't even really need a console, but it allows you to use one. And even that is made easy with aftermarket consoles.
Allen's 56 above uses a fiberglass console and valence available from the guy who did his interior.
I guess we all have different tastes...mine is to modernize. You're going to hate my interior. LOL!

To me the original bench seat is the way to go. Just my .02. Just like the extra room side to side. guess I will never by another new car again seeing as they no longer make front bench seats---buckets with console are just to cramped in most

But some think they can just stick the seats in there as is, wrong. You're too quick to pass judgement

I would have perfered a bench in my 55 like my 56 but I did not want to spend the money when I bought a 65 Impala SS ft buckets and rear seat for $165 and sold the rear for $85. They actually fit my "we boughr a new 65 Impala SS396 and built a 55 theme well". I did not do a consolle but if I d it would have to be mid 1960s era. I do not like late model seats, stage coach wheels, extended cab pickups rack and pinion or rear disk brakes. Some on hear like to give me shit about it but they are no worse than some of my buddies.
I do think the 60's Impala buckets, console, and rear seat fit in the 55-57 cars well. My brother's father-in-law had a nice '55 with that interior, and it looked factory. There's nothing wrong with the "old school" look, it's just not my thing.
Like I said, we all have different tastes. I like a lot of the new cars, the way they perform, and their interiors. My Nomad reflects much of my modern tastes, and my sedan will also...if I ever get to it. LOL

Gee, Hearing 60's Impala seats fit the 55-57 cars is good. Shuda kept our 65 SS Impala with big block. Yup we like old school but appreciate what the modern world is doing with the trifives.
