New member......I have a 55 Chevy Del Ray that I've been working on for over 20
years. I'm on my 2nd paint job, 3rd interior, 2nd engine (you get the story).
I'm originally from Southern Calif where I purchased this rust free car. I would
go to car shows and all the 55's staring looking alike so I dared to be a little
different and started modifying my 55 with a "Euro" theme as I enjoyed
customizing BMW's and Porsches (usually bought theft recovery cars and rebuilt
them) as this keep my initial car purchase cost low.
My 55 has Porsche Cayanne Titanium Metallic paint, BMW M3 power/heated leather seats
(Front/Rear), custom matching leather door panels, Porsche 911 electric mirrors, Porsche 993 door handles, 18"/20"
BMW 7 series rims and BMW side marker lights. All stainless has been brushed and
all former chrome items has been powered coated/cleared with a bright silver
color. The engine is a factory crate ZZ3 with Street n Performance multi port
fuel injection, Corvette 700R4 and a 90 Corvette C-4 independent rear suspension
with QA1 coil over shocks. It has a stainless steel gas tank and aluminum drive
shaft just to list a few of the components.
I need to update the factory front suspension (all rebuilt with disc brakes,
sway bar and CCP 500 power steering box) with C4 components which I have so I'm
trying to decide to go with a brand new frame or just installed a front frame
stub with the C4 mounts. Anyway that's the basics as I'll add a few pictures
