    Speedometer repair

    Hello Tri-Fivers,

I'm hopeful that one of you can point me in the right direction for speedometer parts? My ride is a 56 Bel Air, still has OEM speedo. The problem is it started making a real bad noise & then the needle BROKE. I know I can buy another insert complete piece ($125.00) but I would prefer to repair mine. Where can I get JUST the parts I need??

    Thanks in advance,
    Ed

What parts do you need? Just the needle? The noise was probably from your speedo cable, not the speedo.

    Yes Sir CN,

It appears I only need the needle, looks like mine broke @ the steam. The odometer is still indexing, so the cable isn't broke....but I'm removing the assembly later this weekend to take a closer look. In the meantime, I was just trying to find where I could get the individual pieces to the speedO head, without buying the entire assembly.

    Thanks,
    Ed

I think this is what you need:

It looks like the cars and trucks used the same needle but the truck needle is green and the car needle is white. The truck needle could be painted white:

    Thanks CN,

I'll be working on it this weekend and it looks like they have what I need. Appreciate the help.
