There's really not that much difference between the suppliers that have an a/c system that's a custom fit for our cars. VA is the standard of the industry, as you know. Far as I know, Classic is the only other real choice.

I think Vintage Air makes one of the best A/C units on the market for any car. I don't know how many other suppliers there are out there...I only know of Old Air, Hot Rod Air and Southern Air as alternatives. IMO the Old Air evaporator case hangs too low below the dash. The Southern Air unit for 55-57's looks kind of "generic" to me but perhaps they fit well. I've never seen one installed.

Here's a little discussion I found on some of them:

If you want a good price on the Vintage Air Gen IV evaporator kit for inside the car, send me a PM. I just bought one for my Nomad for well under what others are charging, and the best price I found anywhere. The best I see on eBay is $760 shipped and Summit is $780+ shipping. Even the Vintage Air cable controlled evaporator kit I got cost me $675+ shipping several years ago.

If you change your mind on having to have the electronic controls (some guys prefer the cables), I have a cable control evaporator kit that I can make a good deal on. It's brand new, never used, except for mockup. The only reason I'm not using it is because I need the 4-vents that the newer Gen IV servo control kit comes with. It's going on eBay as soon as I make sure the new unit fits.
