    Tire Recommendations

Just acquired a '57 BelAir Sedan with 32k original miles. Where's a good place to get tires? Looking for wide whites vintage look in a radial tire. Prefer not to spend a grand to get a set.

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the site!

Nice car...curious what you paid for it if you don't mind me asking. I have a similar 57 210 4-door low mileage car I'll be trying to sell.

There are no wide whites at a low price. Coker etc is all there is. $190-$220 each is what you're looking at brand new. American Classic is the better brand at around $200 each.

Not in the appropriate size. The cheapest 205/75/14 is $208 free shipping. The only ones under $200 are bias ply or narrow white walls.

    57 For Sale

I gave $8200 for the car. Was painted, some chrome re-plating, and seat covers done in 1988. Paint is blistered on hood and trunk. Very solid all round.

You won't find any better deal unless you happen on to someone wanting to sell some they already bought for less.

Thanks Scooterman. The car I have is an AZ car and is virtually rust-free. It shows 44K miles and the guy who I bought it from owned it for 20 years and he said he MAY have put 5K on it in that time. The odometer doesn't work now and the guy has since died. It has a 283PP engine with a 3-speed transmission.

I don't know much about them or who all sells them because I'm not a "wide white" guy, but the "Diamondback" tires have a much better reputation on the other trifive forums compared to anything Coker has. I don't know how much more expensive they are, but this is apparently a "get what you pay for" deal. They are radials.

I'd recommend that you become aware of these before purchasing.
