A little info on the car's location, condition, etc. would be helpful. Money is just a go-between....finding someone who wants a 56 and has a Jeep to trade may not be very easy. You would probably be better off selling the 56 outright. IMO

Yes, more on your cars condition would be helpful here.

Interesting enough, i put a for sale sign on my 57 Beauville 9 passenger wagon at a big car show I attended this weekend. Put $23K along with my sign which listed all the stuff I've ever done to this wagon over the last 8 years I've owned it.

Amazingly, ALOT of people stopped, read the sign, talked with each other, wrote down my cell phone #, etc.

But no one has called yet.

This was a show with 2500 cars and easily 10,000 people.

Need to know the condition of yours, to know what it might be worth to todays buyers...

The wife says if I can trade it for a jeep I can have a jeep if I sell it outright the money has to go into our house projects. She doesn't think I need something else because I already have a 56 Chevy cameo and a 56 Chevy panel truck

Doesn't it matter what YOU think? I hate to say it but it seems like maybe you have some things to set straight. I spend as much as I want on whatever I want. I know every household handles things differently and I have been single the past 14 year until getting married again this May. But even my last marriage I spent what I wanted to. As long as your bills are paid it seems like you should be able to do that. Just my opinion.
