Post another pic once you get the bracket mounted...one that shows the whole front of the engine. I need to see the bling!

Nick that's SPAM. It's in several forums. Unfortunately I just noticed that neither of us are admins anymore so I can't delete it. When did that happen?

I haven't been for a while. No big deal for me though. BTW, how's the leg doing?
I didn't notice until today.
My leg hurts like a sumbitch as the pain killer wears off but I think it's healing ok. I have a lot of deep scrapes on my back and bad bruising that is starting to heal. I can walk without crutches now if I'm careful. I'd post a pic of the injury taken at the hospital but RD would probably make some stupid comment about it after he lost his lunch. Sorry, I'm just tired of his ongoing BS and subtle bashing.

I received the re-chromed bracket from Ogden Chrome and it looks really good. Now that I can hobble around a little, I made some reduced head size 7/16-14 stainless socket screws to attach it with. For some reason, the two lower bracket bolts are larger on one end of both heads. All the bolts for the bracket on the driver's side are 3/8" as is the upper one on the passenger side. I remember S&P specifically asking me about this. Not sure why I didn't see it during mockup but I never did torque the bolts that much and a 3/8" bolt will go in loosely. Or maybe I noticed and forgot...who knows now.
After attaching the bracket I attached the A/C compressor. S&P sure didn't make it easy to tighten the bolts holding the compressor on. You can't get a wrench around the nuts. I may have to use metric 12-point flange nuts.....sigh .
This picture shows that I clearly mocked this all up with the belt installed. I cut down the tighteners to make everything fit like it was supposed to. But now the damned belt doesn't fit and I need another 1" of adjustment! How the hell can that happen ?

Anyhow, I'm hesitant to cut the adjusters down until I figure out why the belt won't fit. It's the same exact belt and it's routed the exact same way with the same brackets and pulleys. I don't get it.

I'm stumped. I made sure the adjuster rods were screwed in all the way, and that the belt was in the grooves on the pulleys and seated in the non-grooved pulleys. No change. Both adjusters are the same length.
Once thing I did notice (and probably just forgot) is my Crank pulley has 7 grooves as does the A/C compressor pulley. Everything else has 6 grooves...PS pump, one idler, and the alternator pulley. Not sure why that's the case, but it's probably irrelevant as long as I use the right grooves that line everything up.
The alternator adjuster is at least 1", maybe more, from the bolt going in, which means the belt is 2" shorter than it was before .....lol. I'm shrinking with time, but I don't think a belt chould shrink that much over a few years! There's no way I could stretch it that much either, I don't believe. But maybe I should try using a lever. How tight should a serpentine belt be?
I don't see how I could have assembled anything wrong, since it's pretty straightforward and each part has a specific location. I didn't take the idlers and brackets apart. They're located by the water pump bolts. The brackets only go on one way. The crank and water pump pulleys can't move. I'm pretty sure the heads are in the same location L&R. The head gaskets are a few thousandths thinner than they were.....maybe my block grew...LOL!
