Got the AN10 coupler today and machined it to fit the PS pump. Bought 2 just in case I screwed up one of them. The one on the right is the one I took out of the pump with the AN8 threads.

Now I'm going to freeze it and see if I can get it pressed into the pump. The pump inlet is at an angle so I really have no way to press it on my shop press, unless I make some kind of fixture. I may have to try to just drive it in with a hammer .

Nice work. You might want to consider warming the housing instead, otherwise the o-ring will get rock hard when you slip it on, plus lube either way of course.

I doubt he would keep the o ring on when putting it in the freezer....
Only slip it on just before the whamo with the BFH.

Are you going to rely on just the interference fit or are you going to use an adhesive as well?

Uh, it's o-ringed. Better than a sealant in my humble opinion.

First of all, this is a pump INLET line so there's no pressure on it. Secondly, an interference fit is what S&P relied on, and what most of the type II pumps in use have. As mentioned, there is an o-ring and I have machined it for an interference fit so I don't think it's going anywhere. I do wish the port was threaded, but it's not. So this is the solution I'm using.

Most type 2 pumps with a separate reservoir from the factory have a thin wall pressed in steel tube that interfaces to a plain rubber hose. Sized correctly, that fitting will work fine. As said there's virtually no pressure other than the head height of the oil in the reservoir.

I got the fitting pressed in today. I froze the fitting and heated the pump to 200F. Put grease in the pump inlet hole, put the o-ring on the fitting, and drove it in with a deadblow hammer. It was easy.

I also got the other hose ends. It looks like the 150 degree hose end is going to work best on the pump, so it's going on tomorrow. I plan to put the 45 on the reservoir and get it mounted if the hose looks like it will work.

I got the PS pump reinstalled, the reservoir mounted and all the lines made up and installed. The 150 degree AN10 hose end worked perfectly on the pump end and the 45 degree end worked perfectly on the reservoir end. The lines all lay out pretty nice, imo, and there's no interference with the serpentine belt or anything else .

Before I fill it up I decided I need to polish the reservoir and paint all the radiator support panels so I don't have to mess with them again. So that's the next project . Then I can permanently install the reservoir and tighten all the lines before filling it up. According to the C4 guys the Redline Synthetic PS fluid is the best stuff to use.

It all looks great CN.. as usual for you! C4 guys that do a bit of road racing (or high performance driving schools) have had their PS fluid heat up and boil... also have had issues with their brake fluids... I doubt you are going to take your Nomad to those kinds of events?
