    windshield gasket flange

I am confronted with rust holes at the top of the radius of the roof through the windshield gasket flange on my 55 nomad. Can anyone say if the flange and the roof are two distinct components? I believe they are, I can see what looks like a white plumbers puddy looking substance in the seam between the two. Does anyone have images of a patch in this area?

    Thanks!

The area of the roof surrounding the w/s is "folded" down until it becomes the flange, the inner panel across the top of the w/s does the same from the inside. Where these two flanges meet they are spot welded together. So your actual mounting flange for the w/s where the rubber gasket sits should be two thicknesses of metal...one coming from the outside metal, one from the inside.
