    New to TriFive.

Hi all. I'm new to the site and I hope to learn a lot here. I'm from around Athens Ohio. The way I came into my 55 was by helping my neighbor. I had said something about that being my favorite car and gave it no more thought. Then one day Richard says to me that he has a 55 and it is now mine. What a surprise, It needs a lot of work. The car comes with a 400 BB, a 350 and a 327 with double hump heads. The engines are in better shape than the car but they need work also. I hope to start on it after Christmas has past and things settle down a bit. I'll be doing a lot of reading and asking a few questions if I'm unable to find the answer here. Thanks for having a site like this, hope it helps me complete my dream car.

I have been thinking about keeping it kind of old school. Being on a budget helps push me in that direction. I have a 327 I'll most likely put in her. I have a lot of work to do before I get there. It needs driver's side control arms to start with. The lower one is damaged and must be replaced before we can roll her around. There's a lot for me to learn so I'll do a lot of reading here and looking at other peoples projects and decide later just where I'll take the 55. Thanks for the welcome!

It has been sitting since 1970 I think. It was always kept in a barn but it still is in sad shape. Gotta start somewhere and I would like to save the ole girl anyway!

Just curious....why do so many guys consider their car as being a female? Mine certainly isn't.

I thought you would be the first to reply Chevynut!!! The truth is I have not had the car long enough to know if it's a female or not. lol I have been reading and seeing what choices I have as far as fixing the front end. I would really like disc brakes on the front for safety and drums on the back. I have spent most of my time reading in the "TrifiveChevy Suspension [Brakes, Chassis, Rims, Shocks, Springs, Swaybars, Tires, Ect]" looking at my options.

I agree with you Chevynut! especially re 'muscle cars'. I recently spoke with an early owner of my '69Z28-RS... a young lady who was 16-18 when she owned the car in the early 70's (her first car). I've owned the car since 1976. Anyway, she referred to the car as 'Lucy'... I was aghast! I told her, I'd NEVER considered my Z28 to be female!! It's more like an aggressive 'adolescent' with muscles... that thinks it can do anything!
