Pretty interesting stuff Lee.
One other not so well-known fact is that there were actually 3 different frame types made, I assume, by three different manufacturers. AO Smith was one of the frame manufacturers but I don't know who the other ones were.
Most everyone knows about the two frame types, 2-piece and seamless which are obviously different in looks and construction. However, there is another type of 2-piece frame that had welds instead of rivets in some places, and the front frame horns were different in construction.
I'm sure none of these things were a big deal at the time, but it's interesting to look back on them now. It probably affects only those who want to do a 1000 point restoration.
