Thanks. I wish there were more of them. But it seems they didn't make as many 56 as 55. Not sure but I have some youtube videos up to document my travels. Doesn't seem like much of a following however for 56. Guess I can call it chevy restoration and leave out the 56. Thanks for the welcome.

Actually there are a LOT of 56 Chevys. I think the production numbers were every bit as high as the 55 and 57. They used to be seen as the "stepchild" of the tri5's and weren't as popular as the other two (they aren't the first or last), but the popularity of 56's has soared. I think the 56 BelAirs have the best side trim of all 3 years, and imo the front end is a lot nicer than a 57!

I agree with ChevyNut again, re the '56 side trim and grill being 'nicer' than the '57...

    The actual Chevrolet production numbers: 1955: 1,830,029, 1956: 1,621,005, and 1957: 1,522,536

    As 'percentages' of Big3 production: 1956 was highest GM % at 27.94% (1955 was 23.04%, and 1957 was 24.9 %.

For many years going to Nomad Nationals and CCCI nationals, it seemed the 56s were in the minority, but at the recent TriFive nationals, it seemed every other car was a '56..

Thanks! I'm looking forward to doing her up. A bit of mod stuff here and there won't hurt I don't think.
