Ever Seen one of These?

Last Fall I was walking the swap meet at the Jalopy-a-Rama in Carroll County MD (great show) and saw this side mirror. The side/support reminded me of the 55 Chevy trim and since I had a 55 wagon grabbed it for $10.

Couldn't find a part number and have no idea of original application. At first I thought late 50s Ford/Mercury but a friend now thinks Mopar. I wouldn't mind finding another for the passenger side.

So anyone ever seen one? Thanks S

Posted the pic over at the HAMB. They think after market and pretty rare. Nothing definite on ID yet.
