Chevrolet’s (worst-kept) secret mid-engine supercar has been spotted on a race track in Germany, in what appears to be production form, four months ahead of its anticipated debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January.

56 Nomad, Ramjet 502, Viper 6-speed T56, C4 Corvette front and rear suspension

I have to say I agree with you Beachgirl; in fact, ever since Dave Hill went from Cadillac to Corvette (as the Chief Engineer) around 2005, the Corvette has become 'less Corvette' and more 'something else', initially it was a 'Cadillac influence', and now the last couple of generations more and more like a foreign car... and of course, the rear engine location influences that 'short nose' 'long butt' appearance as well (like the NSX)...

Someone forgot to tell the Corvette engineers/designers/marketeers that Corvette is supposed to LEAD , and you do that from the FRONT, not copying other inferior products! I have 5 older Corvettes and followed them religiously for 20 yrs, but I don't even look/care about new Corvettes any more; in fact, that is what got me back on classic 55-57 chevys a few years ago.

I agree on the NSX look, but I'm guessing it's a bigger car than an NSX and that might be obvious if you parked them side by side.

One thing they've deleted with recent models is the typical Corvette taillight scheme, one that started with the C2s. The replacements are probably more stylish, but the older deal was a Corvette deal that perhaps should have stayed.

I have, in my 71 years here on this earth only had 1 Corvette and that was a 59 and a very short period of time. I don't miss it, never did. Regarding looks, anymore, they all look very similar specific to the size of the unit. My appreciation on all vehicles is the technology being applied. Naysayers will always be present - if it pleased everyone, life would be boring.

I'll reserve my judgement on the Corvette until I see it. The "camo" makes it difficult to really pick out the body lines. IMO most cars follow trends. Today the trend is to put big air scoops next to the grille opening and most cars have them, even Toyotas. That said, I LOVE the 2019 ZR1

On the big scoops on the sides, especially Toyotas. I think they are pretty ugly myself.

Haven't liked anything about the styling of the Corvette in a long time.

    https://www.foxnews.com/auto/new-cor...owerful-report

Hagerty reports that development of the mid-engine coupe has been delayed in part because its aluminum frame is warping so much under acceleration that it's busting the glass engine cover.
