    Liftgate: Replace Gas Struts

What you need to know Nomad liftgate gas struts:
    • Replaces lift supports with a 10 mm ball socket rod connector, and a 10 mm ball socket tube connector
    • Replaces lift supports with extended length between 16.5 and 17.5 In.
    • Replaces lift supports with a force between 45 lbs and 55 lbs

Note: All Auto part stores sell them.
The ones I got were form Auto Zone pt. #D95779
    (Black) not stainless steel.
    They work great.
The guy I bought my kit from didn't want to help with any info. at all.

Who did u buy the kit from? Our kits have 40#s the others on the market are 35# which tend to go out on people . I wouldn’t use a 50-55# on a nomad liftgate . We have used that rating on the brass gates and they are 10 pounds heavier than the potmetal frames. 40 does the trick, not too much where it pushes the gate up during adjustment and not too little.

So I’m guessing you bought the kit and they went out on you. So u had the 35#s

I bought my kit in 2007 just now put them on. No numbers on struts and don't know #s. All I know when I put them on they would not hold liftgate up. I'm not sure of the exact #s struts I got from Auto Zone but work good. I'm sure 40#s is good advice. Thanks for input.
