    Replacement Hood Hinges/Springes

What is a good aftermarket 56 Bel Air hood hinge & Springs?? I already banged my head 3 times today because the hood drops down 7 or 8 inches after opening. Are those Billet Aluminum ones (expensive) good?? I will be adding billet or chrome parts over the next the next few months.

    Thanks,
    Keith R

Stay away from the custom aluminum ones unless someone has improved them since introduction. They just don't work as well as a stock hinge. Very finicky about "too hard to shut" vs. "hood won't stay open.

There are some good repro SS hinges/springs on the market, but unfortunately I don't know who makes them - but someone does.

After hearing from a distributor that the OEM "style" reproductions were junk and he wouldn't sell them as he was tired of the returns, we had ours rebuilt..
