    New Member Intro

Hey fellow tri five enthusiasts, Just wanted to say hello and introduce my self. I reside in northern Utah and own a 55 Chevy 2 door post that is the same age as myself. I have owned the car since the early 80's and have never had it road worthy or licensed. My plans for the car are unclear as my passion has always been gassers. My concern there is devaluing the vehicle. That being said more than likely I will go pro-street and avoid any modifications that could not be easily restored to original condition. So far I have added a long rod sbc engine with side mounts , a muncie m22 transmission with a scatter shield, a 69 camero 12 bolt rear end and front power disc brakes. The plan for the interior is black tuck and roll with the original bench seat. The paint scheme is still up in the air but most likely a solid color as the car is a 210 series.

Welcome to the site!! Looks like as nice solid 55 sedan!

If I was you I wouldn't worry about ever restoring the car back to "original" condition because it probably won't ever happen. Also, at least these days nice modified cars are in more demand and bring more money than original cars, and I personally don't think that's going to change. Take a look at 34 Fords....who wants a stock, original 34 Ford? Not very many people. The cars most in demand today are nice pro-touring type cars, as Pro Street has been dying for years. Seems like gassers are making a comeback but again only a limited interest in them. Not many actually want to own one. What I've seen is that a lot of people want the old car look with modern drivetrain and lots of creature comforts like power everything and A/C.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks for your input, agreed I won't ever be restoring the car to original condition. That's an issue for future generations of my family to decide. I appreciate your ideas and agree with your evaluation of what the market demands are. My car was originally a 6 cyl, autumn bronze 210 sedan (not a head turner) and probably a 3 speed column shift. Not something I would ever desire. Boring by my particular taste. Again, thanks for the feedback. Oh and I absolutely love your 56 Nomad.

I would LOVE to have that car, and I wouldn't hesitate mod it in simple ways to make it like you want, and a 2-tone 210 would awesome, in most any color combo.
