My 56 Chevy HT Progress

Been working on the console lately getting it ready to install. The DVR/receiver mount is finished, as well as the shifter/cup holder plate my son made on the CNC mill. The console is pretty big and the intent of the shifter/cup holder plate is to break up the console so it doesn't look so dominating. The raised plate boarder and shift pattern will be chromed, while the center recessed area will be black base/clear. Gary is helping out and currently working on the console compartment interior. It will contain a plate with toggle/push button switches, USB port and ear phone jack for the DVR, as well as an iPhone charging port and the amp bass control. I was going to put the plate in the original glove box, but 'requirements creep' resulted in too big a plate for the area left, given the Vintage Air restrictions, so it's on to Plan B.

Yeah, no kidding on the clock, when minutes of ideas turn into years of work, and penny's turn into $100 bills!

Thanks Mike. Purchased from Billy Dawson, Corvette Correction. He only makes them for automatics, but I liked it, so I bought it and modified it for the 6 speed, adding 9 inches in the shifter area, and removing 7 inches from the console area.

Dick I don't see where you added or subtracted inches.....do you have any pics of the process? Looks like you did a great job on it. Are you covering it with something or just painting it?
