I cut the top of a 70`s era Ohio license plate and welded to the dash.Final body work to be completed after primer.Mocked up some dash mounted gauges on a steel plate.
Mock up of my Autometer Pro-Comp gauges.I wanted to use the backing plates from an original cluster to secure the gauges.I filled in the old holes and cut new ones to accommodate the lights, screws and speedo cable.I cut rubber gaskets to take up the space behind the gauges... Speedo - 1/4 in. and oil-temp.-1/8 in.I also had to cut 1/4 in. off the new speedo bezel for it and speedo to fit. I`m showing both clusters to see the difference.I also made a plate to fill in the speaker grill for three more gauges to face me as I drive. I will have two less important gauges in the console facing me. I like to keep my eyes on the road or track.
