Best approach to filling pits in pot metal.

I have several 1957 - 150 horn button to be rechromed that naturally show pitting.Poor quality mix of elements used by GM in their production I suspect.I have read from you can do it yourself to let someone experienced (chrome shop) do it.Different solders as well.Any thoughts or has any tried to repair pot metal.

Personally I’d let the experts do it. Madmooks does nice chrome work and they fix the pits.
