    Hood question/Hood repairs

Does anybody know if they make a repair piece for the 1955 Chevy hood, where the hinge meets the hood or does anyone have a crunched up hood that they’re willing to cut the piece off and sell me? Im trying to fix a hood and would rather have the piece then weld nuts on.

Are you looking for the full brace at the rear of the hood? I doubt it's repopped and sold separately, but I'm not sure.

Yes the rear brace of the hood or at least the sections with the bolt holes. I have never seen it either was just hoping. Maybe someone is willing to chop up a ruined hood and sell me the piece. My hood is in great shape and I just don’t wanna waste it.

I happen to have a 55 hood with a good brace but I think it's in too good of shape to cut up. It needs some work and I don't know what it's worth. I had another hood with a cutout for a blower or something, but I don't know what I did with it. I can't seem to find it and I don't think I sold it. What's the brace worth to you?

Yeah i wouldn’t anyone cutting up hoods that can be used or saved. I was thinking one that are too banged up to repair that have a good brace. Goodness now you wanna make me think of numbers. Hahaha well not sure what that would be worth I’m thinking 70-100 for it. Plus I gotta think of shipping too.

How much do you think a slightly banged up hood is worth? It has all the braces and hood latch. I can post a picture if it would help. The hood is salvageable but by no means perfect. The rear brace looks nice from what I can see. I just have no use for it. Wish I could figure out what I did with the one with the hole in it.

You can PM me if you prefer.

Well the way I look at is new Repop hoods are 5-600. A decent good used hood here in California that I’ve seen could be anywhere from 150-200 give or take. Just depends on the seller and buyer as well.
