    removal of wagon tailgate handle

Interested in removing the outside tailgate handle on my 210 wagon and building an electric tailgate release. Any ideas or suggestions?

That shouldn't be too hard to do IMO. You would probably want to remove the handle and use a shaved door handle type solenoid to actuate the latches. You could use sheathed cables instead of the stock rods, or use the rods and a lever. You might need some sort of popper to push the tailgate open a little so it doesn't re-latch when the solenoid releases. I don't remember how the latches work on a wagon but I don't think they stay open.
