    Wiper motor install

Is this the right area to ask questions on windsheild wiper motor operations?

If we stood on ceremony, we'd have a thousand sections - fire away!

There's a library on this site that has a lot of assembly manual information. Here's some that might help:

Thanks for all the info.I've installed a after market electric motor. It works fine. My problem is both blades rotate clock wise looking at them. The driver side blade in the off position is at the 9 o'clock position and works fine. The passenger side blade if placed in the 9 0'clock position works also, but the blade is not resting properly on the windshield. Should the passenger side blade be at 3 o'clock and rotate counter clock? Please advice. Thanks, Craig

Yes, the driver side wiper arm should be at 9 o'clock in the parked position when looking from the front of the car. It should initially rotate clockwise.

And yes the passenger side should be at 3 o'clock in the parked position and should initially rotate counterclockwise.

Thanks Rick, I thought that. I pulled the glove box and radio and can see the transmission cables. It looks like the passenger side cable does not have a twist in it which means the blade will rotate counter clock. Some how I'm going to have tot twist in it to reverse direction. Any ideas? Craig

I just took a look at an old transmission and I believe you have to switch the way the cable is routed on the drive shaft at the motor. Doesn't look like you can swap it at the transmission easily. Well none of it's easy unless you are a contortionist with small hands.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. I'll have to remove the heater vent duct and defrost duct also. I the future I going to install advantage air, do these ducts need to be reinstalled to install a/c?
