    Hello

Hi there, new to the form here. I don't own a TriFive, but I am deep in the middle of a '55 Pontiac Safari build. As some of you may already know there's not a lot out there for Pontiac forms. Every time I searched for information, TriFive seemed to pop up, so I joined. I hope that's not a problem. I purchased the Safari in 2013 and began the dismantling in 2016. The car is about ready to head to the body shop...so I'm getting excited. I'm hoping to have the car completed for next summer. The car was a mild custom with a very custom 25+-year-old paint job when I purchased it. I've taken the customization a bit farther with completely updated drivetrain while still trying to maintain a more stock exterior.

I also like Safari's. I imagine they are hard to get parts for.

There should be some pics in my profile. Yes, they are difficult to get parts for. We found out the car needed a new floor, doors, and tailgate. The doors and tailgate had been repaired in a previous build, but it was not a good job and required a lot of mud to make them work. The doors and tailgate were easy to find since they interchange with Nomads. The floor pan was another story. Nobody makes an aftermarket for Safari. At first, we were going to just do patch panels but then decided to do the entire floor. We used a Nomad floor pan which had to be modified to fit. I've had the body on the frame a few times and all seems to fit up nicely.

If you've ever searched pictures for a1955 Safari, I'm pretty certain you would have come across the car I'm doing. I'm not sure who painted it long ago, but at one time it had a very expensive paint job. When I got the car the paint was literally falling off the car.

Looks like a great car! I believe it will look a lot nicer with a more modern, more subtle paint job. I'm sure that was expensive when it was done...decades ago. Post more pics!

    That's gotta be a '60's - '70's paint job...
