    Back from TriFive Nats 2018!

Well, we made it back from the TriFive Nationals once again... we DID NOT win the Giveway car, but it was very nice (first one I would have made room in my garage for!).. Didn't win the 50/50 pot either (but a fella from Tennessee won over $15K on Saturday evening! The Friday 50/50 pot was over $8K I heard...

They reported that 2752 TriFives registered and came thru the gates; a bit down from last year, and significantly less than what was expected, but the QUALITY of the high end cars were HIGHER than ever! There must have been 200-300 cars that could have easily made the Top 25 list! I think the high probabiliy of rain predicted held the numbers down, but it only rained Thursday around noon and a bit Thursday night, and again on Saturday night (a couple of showers between 5-6 pm as they were doing the awards and drawings).

My Nomad made it on it's own the 375 miles or so (round trip) without incident, even with the 1000 lbs of meat(heads) I transported into the event on Saturday! (Can I say that my Nomad is a 'half ton' Nomad now?)..

We were there with our fresh 57. I saw your car at the hotel.

Well... why didn't you yell at me? I'd like to have met you!

How did you like the event?

We've been every year, and I'm always impressed by the quality of the cars. I grew up near Bowling Green, and still have family I can stay with.

The coolest thing I saw was watching the gassers run. They were mostly stuck in the 10's and 11's, then Greg Porter in the Night Stalker lays down an 8 second pass. That was impressive.

Didn't I hear the announcer on Saturday evening saying that someone run a sub 7 second quarter?? Was it Lutz again?

Lutz was "no time". He doesn't want anyone to know how fast he is.

I think it was the red Pro-Mod 55 that ran in the 6's, against the 57 Funny Car.

Bama, that is a really pretty Nomad. I plan on making up to Bowling Green in a couple years.

I don't think you will regret making the trip! I'm close enough to go each year, but if I was further away, I'd for sure make effort to go at least once..

Thanks for your comments; it's a driver, but it's driving better and better the more little problems I fix.. (A new paint job is desired, but at least this one is protecting the metal, and I have others needing paint worse!)..
