    SEMA 2018

Anyone here going? I just registered my wife and I. We're staying at a timeshare I booked for $199 for 4 nights with shuttle service to the Convention Center. All I have to do is sit through 2 hours of timeshare presentation....lol. Done that many times. JUST SAY NO!

I haven't been to SEMA since 2015 (4th time) but it's an awesome show if you ever get to go.

Let me know what your plans are and maybe we can get together for a beer or cocktail. Do you know where you're staying yet? We're staying south of the Convention Center a few blocks. I'd love to meet another car nut.

Just got back from SEMA.....wow, what a week. I've never seen so many car people in one place. Several people said there were 200,000 attendees and the general public isn't even invited. The cars were awesome as were the trucks, jeeps, and everything else. This was my fifth time attending. I noticed that Art Morrison is selling his '60 Corvette which was in the Barrett-Jackson booth. You can really tell the interest is shifting toward muscle cars and even new cars like Demons, Hellcats, Corvettes, Camaros, and Mustangs. This was our first time attending SEMA Ignited last night and it was a huge event. We didn't get to meet anyone from this site but had a great time! Maybe going to go next year too .

Any interesting new products you saw? I didn't see many announcements/press releases of any kind except for the Dakota Digital RTX which is not of interest to me.

I didn't even get to see the new products showcase but there's a ton of new products every year. We were there Tuesday through Friday and we only saw some of the outdoor stuff and the North and Central halls. The Central hall is where "Hot Rod Alley" is and was of most interest to me. Chevrolet and Ford has some huge displays as they do every year. The Ford GTs are incredible, but we saw tons of Lamborghinis, McLarens, Bugattis, Paganis, Porsches and all sorts of other super cars and sports cars. We didn't even get into the two South halls or the half dozen tents set up south of them. There was a lot of outdoor stuff we didn't see too. I spent a lot of time talking with vendors and looking at cars in their booths...some incredible builds. All the big names were there...Foose, Kindig, Goolsby, and many others. Bought a pretty cool nibbler that fits on a drill from Bad Dog Tools. I was going to buy a polisher and some compounds, but didn't want to drag them home in my luggage. I probably saw 1/3 of the stuff that was there.
