WTB: Chevy Alternator 1100884 or 1100825

If you have a Chevy alternator (1100884) or (1100825) and would part with it, PM me with description and price. I need the case with numbers at least but an entire alternator would be best (working or not)...

I have a 1100633.....63 Corvette. I have another one in a box in pieces somewhere that I took apart decades ago to rebuild but I can't find it. I hope I didn't throw it in the trash. It may have been from my '68 L71 427 Tri-Power Corvette engine I sold.

My '69 Corvette (350 hp AC car) was supposed to come with one of those alternator numbers, but it wasn't present when I purchased it in 1988. The car works fine without it (can't recall the alternator number it has on it), but I'd replace with a correct one if I came across one...

    Bama-

About 15 years ago I was building a 65 Corvette- a numbers car and I was chasing casting numbers and sometimes dates across the planet. I needed an alternator and a specific starter casting. Remembering that these are usually refurbs, I went to the local auto parts store and asked them if I could go through their stock because I was looking for a specific casting. Manager said ok. We went through a bunch of alts and starters, no luck the first few times but eventually I found a starter.

Of course times have changed alot- but it still might be worth a try.

Good point Scorp! I used to find starters, water pumps, and alternators too (by numbers) by going thru the rebuilt stuff at parts stores, but the last few years I've not had a lot of success at that. Nowadays, even the rebuilts are sometimes 'rebuilt' crap reproductions!
