    Power antenna

Does anyone offer a kit to install a power antenna using the stock chrome antenna base and black plastic nut? I know most guys delete the antenna and use something else but I decided to keep it and there's a big hole in my fender with the two stock screw holes. I've seen installations with aftermarket bases, but not with the stock base.

We got one from Julianos Hot Rod (iirc) and are going to use it with the teardrop shaped OEM antenna escutcheon.

I looked on Julianos website and don't see any power antennas there. All I see is a hidden antenna.

The stock base may not be a problem but the black plastic nut may be a problem because of its height.

I have searched all over and I don't think anyone has done this. I'm surprised that after all these years a kit isn't available. I think I figured out how to do it though. Will post when I get it all set up.

Success! Spent most of the snowy day today trying to figure out how to do this. It took a little work but mostly playing around with it to figure out how the internal limit switches work. The hardest part was getting it to "park" at the right height. There's a clutch in the mechanism that drives it beyond the mechanical limit in both directions. But I finally got it. I used an old pitted bezel for mockup and will use the new one for final assembly. Works great! Hope it fits!

    CN... Good work!

Now we're all looking for a 'how to' post on that mod, identifying parts and mods you have to make etc..
