    Vintageair wiring

Installing my AC. Instructions say to drill a hole in the firewall and connect the hot and ground wires directly to the battery posts. My new AAW classic upgrade wiring harness has this nice big wire marked heater/AC. Do I need to wire directly to the battery or will the wiring from the AAW harness be good enough?

I didn't run my power or ground directly to the battery. I think that's their CYA thing but all you need is a good power source and a good ground. I connected mine to a 50A breaker and a firewall ground inside the car. They use 12 gauge wires for those connections, which just go to the blower. I think that's way overkill. Another 16 gauge wire supplies power to the ECU and everything else.
