    Electric Tri5?

How long before someone comes out with an electric tri5 Chevy? Here's an electric Ford Bronco that's just come out.....369 HP. I doubt they sell very many at this price!

EVs are incredibly quick and powerful, and they have become mainstream. I prefer a hybrid myself.

LOL, not a liberal by a long shot Rick. The FACT is EVs are becoming mainstream and the FACT is they're very powerful. But for a guy who still loves carburetors you are obviously out of touch with the present state of technology.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a mid-engined plug-in hybrid sports car manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Porsche.[4] The Spyder is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.6 L (4,593 cc) V8 engine, developing 608 PS (447 kW; 600 bhp) at 8500 rpm, with two electric motors delivering an additional 210 kW (286 PS; 282 bhp) for a combined output of 887 PS (652 kW; 875 bhp) and 1,280 N⋅m (944 lbf⋅ft) of torque.[5][6] The 918 Spyder's 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivers an all-electric range of 19 km (12 mi) under the US Environmental Protection Agency's five-cycle tests.[1]

The engine weighs 135 kg (298 lb) according to Porsche and delivers 608 PS (600 hp; 447 kW) at 8,600 rpm and 530 N⋅m (391 lbf⋅ft) of maximum torque at 6,600 rpm.[15] This is supplemented by two electric motors delivering an additional 210 kW (286 PS; 282 hp). One 115 kW (156 PS; 154 hp) electric motor drives the rear wheels in parallel with the engine and also serves as the main generator. This motor and engine deliver power to the rear axle via a 7-speed gearbox coupled to Porsche's own PDK double-clutch system. The front 95 kW (129 PS; 127 hp) electric motor directly drives the front axle; an electric clutch decouples the motor when not in use. The total system delivers 887 PS (652 kW; 875 bhp) and 1,280 N⋅m (944 lbf⋅ft) of torque.[6] Porsche provided official performance figures of 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 2.6 seconds, 0–200 km/h (0–124 mph) in 7.2 seconds, 0–300 km/h (0–186 mph) in 19.9 seconds and a top speed of 345 km/h (214 mph).[5][9][16][17] Those numbers were surpassed in independent tests which yielded 2.5 seconds for 0-100 km/h, 7.0 seconds for 0-200 km/h, 19.1 seconds for 0-300 km/h, a top speed of 351.5 km/h (218.4 mph) and 17.75 seconds for the standing kilometer reaching 295.9 km/h (184 mph).[18][19][20]

    Just what we Need

Tesla to roll out autonomous taxis. Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) plans to launch a self-driving taxi in some U.S. cities next year, but analysts are skeptical of the timeline. “All Tesla cars being produced right now have everything necessary for full self-driving — all you need to do is improve the software,” CEO Elon Musk said, when introducing the company’s new computer chip needed for the cars. Meanwhile, investors have been shaken by Tesla’s poor financials in recent quarters. The company expects to release first quarter results on Wednesday.

Those mainstream Teslas that can't be produced at a profit even with tremendous government subsidies are also self combusting now.
