    This Site

    Guys and Girls:

Yesterday I was in the hospital for the 12th time in the last 10 years dealing with an old friend. Some times inpatient, some time outpatient. Yesterday was hopefully inpatient. After this many surgeries I know every detail of the process. Unfortunately. I dont scare easily, but that moment that the anesthesia just takes affect and you know in a second (regardless of how long the surgery takes) you will go from feeling decent to being in a fair amount of pain..... Unfortunately this has come to terrify me and it takes a lot of reserve to stay composed.Yesterday was a long tiring day.

But this post isnt about that. Its about the fact that when I finally got home last night, unsteady from the drugs, starving, and exhausted, the first thing I did was grab my laptop and log in here. I wanted to see what you guys were up to, and for a few minutes I didnt think about that other crap.

And that folks is why this is the best site I have ever been a part of.

    thanks, Scorp

The 3 points of my advice, and I tell it to any one who will listen:

    positive attitude
    great medical care
    boatloads of prayers

this has worked for both me and my wife for the last 10 years, we've both had cancer and heart attacks. These problems are speed bumps, they slow you down but don't stop you.

Keep at it! You'll win this!

Have been away from the forum dealing with health issues as well and just now saw your post here, Scorpion. Our family will keep you in our thoughts and in our prayers for a full and speedy recovery. I understand what you mean about getting gun shy after a number of surgeries. Its a psychological barrier our bodies put up as a defense against further pain and all that goes with the surgical process and recovery following. At least it has been in my case. You just have to get past it and do what you know must be done. Each and every time, as if it were the first.

    G-d bless,

    Harry and Family
